31 March 2008: The city of Binghamton, New York granted a group with ties to Islamic terrorist Sheikh Mubarek Ali Gilani a permit to publicly celebrate Milad-un-Nabi, or Muhammed's birthday, in the streets of Binghamton this Saturday. The Muslims of the Americas (MOA), the name used by Jamaat ul Fuqra, or "Community of the Impoverished,"? was issued a permit for a public celebration that includes a parade that will run through the downtown area and close one lane of the city's main street. Previous celebrations by MOA members have been held at their 35 acre compound in Hancock, NY.

Jamaat ul-Fuqra, which is headquartered in Hancock, has been linked to multiple murders, bombings, and various other felonies throughout the United States and Canada. Established by Pakistani terrorist Sheikh Mubarak Ali Gilani in 1980, Jamaat ul Fuqra has more than 35 known or suspected communes in North America and more than 3,000 members spread across the United States, all in support of one goal: the purification of Islam through violence.

Sheikh Mubarek Gilani, the group's leader, is regarded as an international terrorist. At a terrorist summit held in Khartoum in December 1993, Gilani and other terrorist leaders, such as Osama bin Laden, were caught on film by the Canadian Broadcasting Company chanting, "Down, down USA! Down, down CIA!"? and "Death to the Jews!"? Gilani currently resides in Lahore, Pakistan. In 2007, Gilani issued a press release suggesting, in part that Daniel Pearl is not dead, and that his "purported" death is part of a larger conspiracy to smear his good name."

i have no idea if that was an april fools thing or not......but to be honest i wouldnt be surprised in the least

binghamton is like another world.......that is thankfully is about 3 hours north on 81

driving through there almost reminds me of the drive down south on 81 to roanoke........a backwards ass town that looks like it should be the subject of a movie called "the town that time forgot"

its an absolute pit of a town......and if this is indeed true....it just further cements the case for testing nukes there

besides.....nobody would miss it anyway

Wall Street Journalist Danny Pearl was on his way to a meeting with Jamaat ul-Fuqra (JF) founder, Sheik Mubarak Ali Gilani in Lahore, Pakistan on January 22, 2002. He was on the hunt for al Qaeda connections when he was abducted and slaughtered by Islamic Extremist and British citizen, Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh
"Were there any connections between the shadowy Sheik Gilani and the murder of Pearl? Pakistani authorities had Gilani jailed and later put under house arrest. Given the turmoil in that country, we may never know the extent of his involvement.

What we do know is that since the founding of JF, or the "community of the impoverished,"? by Gilani in 1980, a network of 45 paramilitary training camps in the US and Canada have been created. The group here in the US has committed attacks and robberies, acquired contraband arms, engaged in counterfeit activities, and proselytized effectively among Afro-American prison inmates. JF members participated in the 1993 terror bombing of the World Trade Center.

JF seeks to "purify Islam"? through violence.

What is of great concern is that federal and state law enforcement authorities have investigated and monitored JF and its front group Muslims of the Americas (MoA) and delisted the group as a terrorist organization. Nor has the IRS taken away MoA's charitable tax exempt status.

Look at this response by the State Department to a question about why JF was taken off the official terrorist list.

Question: The group headed by Sheik Gilani used to be designated by the State Department as a terrorist group but it was taken off the list. Why?

Answer: Jamaat ul-Fuqra has never been designated as a Foreign Terrorist Organization. It was included in several recent annual terrorism reports under "other terrorist groups," i.e., groups that had carried out acts of terrorism but that were not formally designated by the Secretary of State. However, because of the group's inactivity during 2000, it was not included in the most recent terrorism report covering that calendar year.
